2027 Season
Welcome Canal Winchester Dolphins!
As we look ahead to the 2027 season, I’m excited to share a new step forward for our team. Up until now, the Dolphins have operated like other CWJRD sports with a single commissioner. However, running a swim team involves a unique number of moving parts—from meet logistics and volunteering to apparel and events. To give our swimmers the best experience possible and ensure long-term consistency as families age out, we are transitioning to a Parent Board model.
To make this successful, we are looking for dedicated individuals to step into the following board roles:
- Vice President - partners with the President to oversee the team activities and meets. This role would step into the President role after a period of time.
- Secretary - maintains the meeting notes for the team and helps organize the meet materials (heat sheets, award labels, etc.)
- Volunteering Coordinator - oversees the volunteer jobs for each meet, including the creation of jobs in Swimtopia and tracking of credits
- Social Media Director - develops and oversees the team's social media presence. There is an existing Facebook page that isn't used, but there is a lot of opportunity to develop an online presence that could help grow the program.
- Spirit Wear Coordinator - works with the vendor to develop swimmer t-shirts and spirit wear to sell for the season.
While season planning usually begins in February, we aim to kick things off a bit earlier this year to give our new board time to hit the ground running. If you are interested in joining the board or have questions about a specific role, please reach out via email to [email protected].
