Are you looking to join the LYST swim team or have a few questions about the program? Come and join us on Sunday August 23rd at 1:30pm in the back gym at the Lancaster YMCA. This is open to all.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Come meet the coaches and parent board. If you are NEW to the swim family, please bring your child to be evaluated. Remember to make sure they have their swimsuit, towel and goggles. Come get all your questions answered and leave knowing what to expect and the level your child would be. We do offer a 1-week free trial before committing to the team to ensure we are right for swimmers and their families, and that swimmers are in the appropriate level.

You will receive the current schedule, and a breakdown of all the fees and parent expectations.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

The entire meeting usually takes 1-1.5 hours. We begin with introductions, then have all the athletes leave to be evaluated, while they are gone, we will go into all the details of the season and answer your questions. Once your child is done with their evaluation, a veteran swimmer will escort them back to the meeting to be reunited with you. In most cases we are finished with the meeting just as they are coming back.

WHAT IF I CANNOT MAKE THE EVALUATIONS?

If you cannot make the meeting and get evaluated, no worries we have you covered. As soon as the season begins, we will always do evaluations at the start of practice at 5:00pm Monday-Thursday. Season begins September 8 for most athletes. Level 1 & 2 athletes will begin October 12th, which is new this season. For swimmers in other autumn activities, they can wait to join the team; registration closes on December 1.There is no need for a reservation for the evaluation, just show up and one of the coaches will gladly help you out.
