This Wednesday's meet will be organized a little differently, to help the meet run more efficiently. All 10 & Under swimmers will compete together in heats seeded by entry times for each event, regardless of age or gender, while scoring will still be separated by age group and gender. The same format will be used for all 11 & Over swimmers.

By grouping swimmers with similar speeds, races should be more competitive and the overall meet should move more quickly than when heats are divided by age groups and by boys and girls. Swimmers will still be competing for points against other swimmers in their own age and gender, just not necessarily in the same heat. For any families who have been around LYST (and other winter swim teams), this is how they run most meets.

There will be fewer overall events, as there will only be two groups (10 & Under, 11 & Over), though there will be more heats in each event. If you have questions, please feel free to talk with Coach Claire or Coach Holly at practice tomorrow.
